HEALTH CARE WOES: I am searching for a local reporter for a small story on the trials I am having trying to get medical attention and benefits here in Las Vegas. I am a disabled female with MS and I have been having major difficulties with social services, UMC in getting medical attention and prescription drugs. I have jumped through every hoop imaginable and yet I am still at start with absolsutely no cooperation in this matter. My health is falling worse and worse each day and I am running out of the strength I need for this fight. Will they force me to move out of the city?

Why is it each person involved has an attitude that they are not paid enough to care? This is a personal battle that will end in true hardship. Is there any agencies to help? The buck has been passed all over the city so far and I know not where to obtain the guidence or help I truly need to become stable and celebrate life.

(Editor: People are generally insecure. Most customer service people are jealous of other people who do not have to work at all or make more money so they think it's funny to disrespect people they feel would disrespect them if they had the chance. This isn't necessarily true but what it true is that this attitude is exactly why they remain customer service. They haven't the sense to be helpful so people like them and they can move ahead...)

AIRLINES LETDOWN: When American Airlines announced they were closing the reservation center here, different organizations came in and offered jobs,education, and assistance. One of these was Nevada Partners. We were promised unlimited education funding because we are displaced airline workers. Now, Nevada Partners reps did say that while we couldn't get a degree..we could take many classes toward getting a degree.

When we started going to sessions to be put in the system to get the funding, we were then told we had a 6,000.00 cap. This is was not said in any of the meetings at American Airlines and we weren't happy but we delt with it. Now, today, (18April) we have been informed there is no more funding. The goverment has pulled all funds. There will be no more schooling until further notice. We were given hope that was not there.

We don't want much but we were promised something and now the promise is no good. This was a lot of people's chance to better themselves. To contribute back to the community by getting better jobs and improving they're quality of life but now we are just stuck again.

This coming day after we found out our old excutives at American are getting big bonuses while good people were laid off or took big paycuts and American Airlines asked employees to speak for the company at Congress.

We can take being laid-off but not being lied to. Please investigate if you feel this is newsworthy.

WACKO STRIPPER ALERT - Friday evening a friend of ours who has a bumper sticker for a local biz on his car was followed home by a stripper who works at Olympic Gardens. She sent the site an email thinking I was him (probably due to the said company bumper sticker that is on about 2 dozen other vehicles in town, but who knows). The email stated something about visiting her at a gentleman's club with a few other rants and rages. We aren't real clear on where this stemmed from, however our friend sure does. Problem for her is that since he is share holder in the housing development she followed him to and his privacy has been violated, he will be filing a complaint against her for stalking. Fortunately for him this kook proved to truly have been stalking him because she included his office address and work vehicle descriptions in her email. According to OG the stripper in question works the evening shift, is Hawaiian/Asian, has light brown highlighted hair, a child and more info will follow as we get the go ahead to post it in the members area... Apparently she followed the WRONG person home this time! Thanks for the info Jeff! And thanks AOL for providing assistance in verifying the origin of the emails! Our hats off to you!

LAKE MEAD Harbor Patrol: "Just want to inform you on the lake patrol on lake mead. On Friday October 11, 2002. My husband and I were heading back from the Sandy Point stopped to rest near Middle Point. My husband started the engine of our 245 foot Hallett boat but it started but did not go into gear. We proceeded to waive for help as we were taking on water. I got my cell phone out called 911 with our luck it worked and they patched me to the National park ranger station. They asked our location we told them our exact location on where we were. They told us that they would call back in which we waited for them to call. I called them the second time and asked them where they were, they stated that they were on their way. 4:30 came around and still no one came. One boat came by and asked us if we needed assistance, they proceeded to call 16 they stated that the Harbor Patrol was on their way thyet would be there within a half an hour so they proceeded on if we were informed that they were not we would have been towed by that boater. Another hour went by and still no one came, I called 911 again and they told us to beach the boat and swim to shore in which we were 4 miles out in the lake or call an emergency service and asked us on what rescue equipment do we have our boat is new we had a horn and life vests. I have also stated that I have a medical condition with my neck, Metal with 8 screws and I need another surgery and I am not physical condition and unable to swim ect.... in which I told the dispatch. They told us that they could call up a rescue service but they do charge a fee. It was around 5 and stated to get dark we had no choice we went ahead and agreed. By 6:30 it was getting darker by the hour and still no one. We waived a boater passing by and he asked us if we needed help and we told him yes by then it was dark he towed us to his houseboat. At 8:30 pm when we got there I called 911 again the told the rescue boat in which cove we were in they came and stated that their fee was $400.00 $100.00 an hour from the time of start. He was intoxicated I can not believe that the Harbor Patrol would send someone in distress in that condition. We had no choice to go. By the time we got to hememway harbor it was 11:30 pm he stated that he wanted all our money. My husband said once again on how much for the tow and the stated $400.00. The tow man got a call and asked us if we had ice to spare for some cocktails and I gave him what we had out of our ice chest. He stated that the Harbor Patrol told him that they were tried on being a taxi service and will not tow anyone again and also to busy filming on channel 8 news on rangers. So why do we have Harbor Patrol? Why do we have ratios to get help when they refuse to come and rescue emergencies? He left and we proceeded to get out truck to but the boat onto it as we were doing this another boater pulled up and was intoxicated also waited and watched him try to but his boat in to the lake along with his family. This is one lake that is not patrolled. If that one boater did not come when he did we would not have been here today. As a boater at lake mead for the last 20 years we have never ran across this situation Sincerely, Unhappy Boater but a alive one."
